Character Name:Tankgírl
Age:26
Armory Link: http://www.wowarmory.com/character-shee ... kg%C3%ADrl
1: Explain how you see your role in a raid and what you use to fill that role. (class strengths, glyphs, mods, talent spec, etc.), also do you have any off-spec experience?I am the tank, I make sure the target(s) are focused on me so that they can be reduced from full Hp-Dead because I am geared for mitigating damage that would otherwise kill my raid members through the Protection tree. I have all raid mods omen and dbm being 2 of the most important. I do have a ret set but it is 5KGsand I have tanked for so long I prefer to stay Protection.

2: What is the one thing you wish you could change about your main class or spec, either to make you more effective or to make it more enjoyable to play? I enjoy tanking and nothing comes to mind that I would change about my current spec.

3: Explain your biggest strength and biggest weakness as a raider. How are you working to improve on this weakness? I research any boss encounter that I am not familiar with. If theres a particular strat the raid uses then I make sure I perform to the best of my ability. If there is a weakness I'm sure it would be that I dont use my OS very much.

4: Explain what you look for in a raiding guild. Examples of what you did and did not like about previous raiding guilds would be helpful. Please also elaborate upon what appeals to you about this guild. If applicable, explain why you are leaving your current guild. I have been unguilded for some time now but i recently, to my friends urging, joined his raidiing guild. I never planned on tanking for them and he just asked me, he and I have played together for 3 years so I couldnt say no. I have no problems leaving this guild for a raid spot in a better established raiding guild. What appealed to me about GCrobots is the raiders i was grouped with on my enh/resto shaman in Icc10. They seemed laid back, knew their role in raid and we had a good time.

5: Detail your availability. How frequently do you miss raids? How frequently will you be late or need to leave early? What do you do when you are not raiding? I am available when the raid needs me. when i do join a guild, i make it a point to show up 90+% of the time. I will always let the RL know if i am unable to make a raid but that doesnt happen often. when im not raiding then im prolly playing an alt.

6: What is your guild history and why did you leave each guild, also post any relevant references?
I was in Nullify Nation as a raiding hunter. I left after a month or so because they are kinda immature. They kept sitting me out on new content although i was the strongest of the 3 raiding hunters. They use Loot Council and that in my opinion is fail. This is the first time im applying as a tank because the guilds usually have set tanks.
7: Tell us about yourself:
I enjoy playing Wow and have been playing since BC came out. I love the raiding aspect of it. Im not usually idle sitting in Dal trolling but out playing the game world or in an instance. I was originally alliance but xferred and faction changed to be with friends but we have long since drifted apart aside from my friend that asked me to join his guild.
8: Hardware/Connection:I have a stable computer and connection. If i do lag it is usally server lag.
9: Combatlogs (for various roles if applicable, link the entire report not an individual fight):
10: Screen shot of your UI in a raid situation: I have no screenies of my UI but i do use the stock UI raid frames out of the raid for easier buffing and pointing out any BOPs that may be needed. If its a requirement then in the future I can post one at a later time.

I have read and understand the guild policies as stated and am agreeing to adhere to them. I understand that filling out an application is not a guarantee to a Raid Trial. Yes

Signed,
Tankgírl

Your answers just don't seem thorough enough for a raid team application.

For the first one, you explained what a tank does >.< We know what a tank's job is, what we want to know is more about your class in particular. What do paladins do better than other tanks? What skills in the talent tree are essential and why? Basically, prove to us that you know what you're doing. This is our first impression of you, and you're not giving us much to go on.

The second question is an opportunity to talk about your class' weakness. You wouldn't change *anything* about protection, if given free reign over the next patch?

For the third one, not playing your OS isn't a valid weakness. We want to know that you're not an egomaniac that thinks they're 100% at everything paladin. This is where you talk about one weakness in your play style and how you're working to fix it. You don't need to go overboard and list everything you suck at, but we want to know that you're not going to cry like a little girl when we give you some criticism. Being able to read logs and critique yourself is a big part of becoming a better raider.

I'm not going to go over all the questions and explain what we're looking for. If you could review the app and add a bit more information, it would be very helpful in processing your application and deciding if we want to pull you in for a vent interview/trial.

Also, nothing is optional. If you can't post logs, it's not a *major* deal as a tank...But we do need that screenshot of your UI. You can hop into AV and take one, it doesn't need to be an actual PvE raid.
