1: Explain how you see your role in a raid and what you use to fill that role. (class strengths, glyphs, mods, talent spec, etc.), also do you have any off-spec experience?

My preferred spec is protection, but I have some experience playing arms as well as fury. My familiarity with the arms spec goes back into Burning Crusade. During BT and Sunwell, I played a hybrid role during raids. I tanked on some bosses and DPS'd on the other. As with my experience with Arms in WOTLK, I played during Ulduar when it was better DPS than fury. During my stint as arms during Ulduar, I achieved some top parses on fights such as Mimiron hard mode, Mimiron normal, Freya +3, Vezax and Yogg-Saron. My level of commitment to this class is very high. I've been playing ever since the release of Burning Crusade, which is when I created the character. I started leveling and I enjoyed the aspect of warrior so much. I started off playing fury but then I switched to protection when Karazhan came out. Ever since I started tanking, I instantly loved it.

My role in a raid is to show up and tank. Even though warriors are useful as damage classes, I believe that they are best served as tanks. My class has many strengths as a tank. First of all, our mobility is great. The ability to move around freely, removing movement impairments when using charge, intercept, or intervene, is simply amazing. Second, we have great threat generation. With the changes that were made to devastate, our threat has increased greatly since the release of WOTLK. However, our class has weakness as well. These weaknesses include: weak AoE tanking (we lose aggro to Paladin consecrete, DK Bloodboil/DND, and Druid swipe) and a low effective health pool (Our EH pool is much less than that of a druid or paladin). Currently, I am using Glyph of Shield Wall, Glyph of Devastate, and Glyph of Blocking. These glyphs allow me to gear myself around the effective health mentality. I believe that effective health is still the best way to approach tanking simply because avoidance doesn't do as much as it did in sunwell with the addition of diminishing returns. Some of the mods I use to help my chosen talent spec are Tidy Plates and Threat Plates. These communicate to me which tank has threat on any target. It simply glows red if I have aggro and glows green if I do not have aggro. This is especially useful in AoE situations. It relieves much of the threat of having to cycle through targets and look at Omen (Another tool that helps my chosen talent spec due to the fact of the Aggro Table / TPS tracker) every time a new target is selected.

An unconventional talent spec that I would pick up would be an improved cleave spec. This, of course, would be for Anub'Arak adds. This allows for sufficient threat on all targets. I have also thought about changing my normal tanking spec to one that consists of Impale but no Deep Wounds. This would allow for some points in other talents such as Cruelty or Booming Voice which would be very beneficial for my DPS as well as my threat output. It might be a bit of a factor on a boss that is a DPS race.

2: What is the one thing you wish you could change about your main class or spec, either to make you more effective or to make it more enjoyable to play?

If I had to change would thing about my class I would change it's ability to AoE tank. Tanking trash in raids is boring because I just can't generate enough threat on the AoE packs. I have to single target in order to keep a target. Tab spamming devastate isn't as effective as consecrete or swipe. My shockwave and thunderclap are also over ridden in TPS by these moves. I believe that if warrior AoE tanking was changed, it would make us more effective as tanks, as well as more enjoyable during raid trash.

3: Explain your biggest strength and biggest weakness as a raider. How are you working to improve on this weakness?

This is hard decision, since I can only pick one, but I believe that my biggest strength as a raider is my situational awareness. I am always aware of what's going on at every second of the encounter. I'm always ready for what will happen next. I am never in a situation where I do not know what to do. My biggest weakness as a raider is my knowledge of other classes. I am not familiar with all the talent trees of every other class in the game. This might hurt me in the future for such fights that require certain buffs or debuffs from another class in order to succeed. To improve on this weakness, I've been leveling other classes to get a feel for their talent tree and spec. I've been using this to see how the mechanics work and other things such as cooldowns.

4: Explain what you look for in a raiding guild. Examples of what you did and did not like about previous raiding guilds would be helpful. Please also elaborate upon what appeals to you about this guild. If applicable, explain why you are leaving your current guild.

I am looking for a guild that has the same goals that I have. These goals include: playing the game at a hardcore level, progressing through raid instances, achieving server first kills, and maintaining a community-based environment. Somethings I didn't like with my previous raiding guilds were lack of leadership, unnecessary trolling, and the lack of will to raid. Some of the things that appeal to me about this guild are the use of a great raid times, and the mentality of "if you're not prepared, you won't raid." I believe that loot council is the best way to distribute loot, but I do not have a problem with a DKP system. Your raid times are absolutely perfect for my availability. I'm also always prepared for raids, so I like that you expect your members to be prepared as well.

I left my previous guild because they are transferring off and I don't want to leave Mal'Ganis. I love the environment and I am strongly considering faction changing to play with the "alive" side of the server.

5: Detail your availability. How frequently do you miss raids? How frequently will you be late or need to leave early? What do you do when you are not raiding?

Sunday - 7 - whenever
Monday - 7 - whenever
Tuesday - 7 - whenever
Wednesday - 7 - whenever
Thursday - 7 - whenever
Friday - I'm usually out and about
Saturday - Same as Friday

I only miss raids when I have very serious personal issues come out. I never show up late to raids, nor will I ever have to leave early. When I not not raiding, I am either playing other games or participating in 10-man content that other guild members are interested in.

6: What is your guild history and why did you leave each guild, also post any relevant references?

<Mediocre at Best> Guild disbanded
<Uprising> Poor leadership
<Misguided Angels> Guild is transferring off server and I don't want to leave.

7: Tell us about yourself:

I am a college student, very laid back. When it comes to raiding, I am very serious. I do all the required research for every encounter and for my class. I am a very goal-oriented person. I like to play other games such as Heroes of Newerth and Counter-Strike. I am active outside of raids, I love participating in 10-mans and PvPing.

I have read and understand the guild policies as stated and am agreeing to adhere to them. I understand that filling out an application is not a guarantee to a Raid Trial.

Signed,
Uhlol

I think the biggest question is.....

Would you be a TROLL MALE?

-edit-

If so there's my vote for you.

Why would I go troll? If I went troll I would be losing so much HP. I would much rather have the extra HP.

I joke because there are next to no Troll Warriors anymore. Hopefully you know how to take jokes. =P

Well, true enough, we did have in S5. But take 2 sec and think about this: Are we in S5 now?

Of the gladiator's in S6, 1% of them were DKs. 16% were warriors, 17% priests. Nuff said :P

Haha, sorry Thornstar. It was late and I didn't know if you were being serious or not.

Sounds good Baxxter/Irron.

Just one thing, I don't know if I'm the only person that read the whole app or not, but... we don't use a loot council. We use a bid system dkp type.

It's pretty fair though, and you can't really just keep saving dkp, you would have to look into how this works though since I don't feel like giving an example. Anyways, the app looks good, the only thing I noticed was defense on your shield instead of stam, which I thought was a little odd.

One thing though, do you by chance have a block set, and have you tanked add at all on heroic anub?

Yeah, I've been in guilds that use DKP systems so I'm familiar with it.

To answer your question about Anub'Arak: I do have a set but I've only tanked adds during wipe attempts (After we had less than 50) to get a feel for it. The times I've killed it, I tanked the actual boss.

I believe Irron is gone for a bit due to work, so if you're in a rush to speak you can hit me up on Mohtang or Zarkad, chances are high I'll be around.
